January 1, 2014:  ALL Americans are required to have health insurance.  The individual mandate tax penalty takes effect. There are specified exceptions, and violators will be subject to a phased in excise tax penalty for noncompliance of either a flat-dollar amount per person or a percentage of the individual’s income.

We currently do not have specific information on Marketplaces (formerly known as exchanges).  Some questions can be answered at:  www.healthcare.gov   These plans will be available for sale Oct. 1, 2013.  Contact Hoosier Benefit Plans with questions.
